Happy childhood memories with Auntie Anne and Uncle Graham

Created by Gillian 6 years ago
As an adult I didn't see my Aunt and Uncle nearly enough. Life and living away from Sheffield didn't help. Family occasions were mostly when we met. Uncle's 70th gathering was one such memorable occasion. It was as a child and young adult that I spent the most time with them along with my brother Neil. Trips to Blackpool for the illuminations and York stand out, along with bags of Thornton's sweets and generally being spoilt rotten! I thought that their flat at Norfolk Park was amazing and loved to stay there with them and a trip to the club was just the icing on the cake. So many memories. At times like this I think they are precious and help us cope. Unc was so ill the last time I saw him, but I choose to remember him play fighting with myself and Neil as children or hearing him laugh at his 70th. A man of few words but worthy of many and remembered with love.
